European Commission vows to lead biowaste crackdown
The European Commission last week called for existing legislation and targets governing the management of biodegradable waste to be "rigorously enforced", with the release of a new report arguing that existing policies have the potential to slash greenhouse gas emissions from landfill and drive rapid adoption of waste-to-energy technologies.
