The City of Milwaukee and Johnson Controls Partner to Make City More Energy Efficient
A major initiative that promises to make Milwaukee one of the most energy-efficient cities in the nation has been launched by the city and Milwaukee-based Johnson Controls. Last spring, the city`s Office of Environmental Sustainability started Milwaukee Energy Efficiency -- or Me2 -- with goals of reducing pollution, creating hundreds of private-sector green jobs, reducing energy bills and improving the commercial building and housing stock. Energy Department announces up to $15 million to research biomass-based supplements for traditional fuels
As part of President Obama’s blueprint for an economy fueled by homegrown and alternative energy sources, the Energy Department announced today up to $15 million available to demonstrate biomass-based oil supplements that can be blended with petroleum, helping the U.S. to reduce foreign oil use, diversify the nation’s energy portfolio, and create jobs for American workers.
