Chinese solar giant Suntech inks European mega-deal
Chinese solar energy giant Suntech Power announced late last week that it has signed three long-term deals with European clients to provide solar panels with a total of 490MW of capacity. The names of the mystery firms have not been disclosed, but reports claimed that they include a reseller; an engineering, procurement and construction firm and a solar project developer.  Under the terms of the agreements, 115MW of panels will be supplied next year, with a further 155MW delivered in 2011 and 220MW in 2012. Khosla steps up clean investment push with wind energy deal
Venture capital firm Khosla Ventures has continued its high profile push into the clean energy market this week, as part of a funding round for wind turbine technology firm Danotek Motion Technologies. Kholsa led the $13.2m funding round, along with three other investors: GE Energy Financial Services, CMEA Capital, and Energy Capital Ventures.  The deal is particularly significant as it reportedly represents the first investment from Khosla`s $1bn Ventures Expansion Fund, which closed in August and aims to provide funding to start ups looking to scale up their operations.  Danotek ...
