Governments predict offshore wind will be subsidy free by 2025
Offshore wind energy could become economically viable without requiring state subsidies within 15 years as the market grows and turbine technology improves, according to a major new report from PwC.

The global survey of experts at eight government bodies, published today, revealed that three-quarters are confident that offshore wind will develop to a point where it does not require subsidies within 10 to 20 years. Over half of respondents said that the sector could be economically viable within 15 years.
