Report: EU to map out rapid shift towards renewables
The EU is to warn that the era of cheap energy is over, according to a leaked document obtained by news agency Reuters that outlines how the bloc plans to accelerate investment in renewable energy. United States to lead the world in geothermal power capacity
The U.S. Department of Energy recently finalized a loan guarantee of up to $350 million for a geothermal power generation project in Nevada that will produce 113 megawatts of clean base load electricity from three geothermal facilities. Energy Secretary Steven Chu pointed to the project, sponsored by Ormat Nevada, Inc., as a signal that the United States will remain the global leader in geothermal energy development.
