Budget set to feature `strong renewable energy narrative`
Support for the low carbon economy is likely to be at the heart of this week`s budget, according to renewable energy industry insiders who are anticipating a flurry of green announcements.
Treasury sources revealed earlier in the week that Chancellor Alistair Darling is to announce the formation of a new £2bn low carbon infrastructure investment fund, backed by £1bn of government money raised through the sale of the High Speed One rail link and a further £1bn of private sector investment.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy has outlined a series of steps to further strengthen the trusted ENERGY STAR® program.
