Hazardous chemicals escape European ban
A European Parliament environmental committee has voted to further limit the use of hazardous materials in the electronics industry, and has extended the scope of the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive, but some believe that the committee has not gone far enough. Contaminants in US groundwater
According to a new study by the USGS, more than 20% of untreated water samples from 932 public wells across the US contained at least one contaminant at levels of potential health concern. About one-third of the US population receive their drinking water from such a system.
