Hearing loss in the workplace was relatively unreported until press articles from Insurance Companies began to emerge about a sudden rise in claims. Indeed, in the UK alone, 60,000 claims notifications for noise-induced hearing loss have been recorded in 2013. The majority of these are made by staff against their employers surrounding deafness and hearing problems brought on by their working environment.
