Hearing loss in the workplace was relatively unreported until press articles from Insurance Companies began to emerge about a sudden rise in claims. Indeed, in the UK alone, 60,000 claims notifications for noise-induced hearing loss have been recorded in 2013. The majority of these are made by staff against their employers surrounding deafness and hearing problems brought on by their working environment.  Employers are urged to make noise monitoring their top priority and protect their business from future claims.
