Groups Hail Progress On Gulf Restoration
Gulf Coast restoration advocacy groups lauded the inclusion of the RESTORE Act in today`s House-passed Surface Transportation Extension Act. Both the House and Senate have now passed versions of the RESTORE Act, which would dedicate 80 percent of the Clean Water Act fines from BP and the other parties responsible for the Gulf oil spill to restoring the Gulf Coast. Personal exposure monitoring device predicts breathing rates, contributes to more meaningful environmental dose estimates
A new technology developed by a research team led by RTI International will help scientists better understand the relationship between environmental contaminants in the air and potential adverse health effects. The new approach uses personal exposure monitors with built-in acceleration sensors to determine individual activity levels while predicting how fast adults, and potentially children, breathe pollutants in their environment.
