Core Competencies in the Practice of Industrial & Occupational Hygiene Discussed in New Document
Recently, it was announced that a joint effort document from the Academy of Industrial Hygiene, American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH), and the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) had been released. The document, “Core Competencies for the Practice of Industrial/Occupational Hygiene,” discusses 17 core competencies used in the industrial hygiene profession. EPA Proposes to Reduce Toxic Pollutants Discharged into Waterways by Power Plants
In accordance with a consent decree and in line with requirements under the Clean Water Act, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today will propose a range of options to help reduce dangerous pollutants, including mercury, arsenic, lead, and selenium that are released into America’s waterways by coal ash, air pollution control waste and other waste from steam electric power plants.
