EPA recognizes top green power purchasers
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is releasing its list of the top 50 organizations using the most renewable electricity. The Green Power Partnership’s top purchasers use more than 12 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green power annually, equivalent to avoiding the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from the electricity use of more than 1 million average American homes. Green power is generated from renewable resources such as solar, wind, geothermal, biogas, and low-impact hydropower.

Nagoya deal ushers in new era of biodiversity protection
Environment ministers from almost 200 countries agreed an historic global deal to extend biodiverisity protection late last week in a move that it likely to have long term implications for many global businesses.
Following hours of tense negotiations at the Nagoya UN biodiversity summit in Japan, ministers signed up to a sweeping package of measures that will impose new voluntary targets for biodiversity protection and usher in a new regime for sharing the financial benefits generated from natural genetic resources.
