OPIC to Mobilize $1 Billion to Assist Developing Nations in Combating Climate Change
Agency to open a call for proposals from private equity fund managers; announcement made at UN Climate Change Conference in Cancun Elizabeth Littlefield, President and CEO of the U.S. Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), announced today that OPIC will provide at least $300 million in financing for new private equity investment funds that could ultimately invest more than $1 billion in renewable resources projects in emerging markets. US Labor Department`s OSHA extends comment period to March 21, 2011, announces stakeholder meeting on noise control interpretation
The U.S. Department of Labor`s Occupational Safety and Health Administration today announced that it is extending by 90 days the official comment period on the proposed interpretation titled "Interpretation of OSHA`s Provisions for Feasible Administrative or Engineering Controls of Occupational Noise," which was published in the Federal Register on Oct. 19. Interested parties are encouraged to submit comments by March 21, 2011.
