Growth In Global Spending On Sustainability Will Not Exceed 10% In 2013
Corporate spending on initiatives to enhance energy, environment and sustainability management will grow by less than 10% in 2013 according to a new global survey of 250 heads of sustainability conducted by independent analyst firm Verdantix. 72% of responding firms have a sustainability leader who reports into the CEO or another member of the executive committee. Green infrastructure in street canyons could reduce air pollution
Planting vegetation in city streets could significantly reduce air pollution in urban street canyons, according to new research. Traffic pollutants are deposited on vegetation at a higher rate than on hard, built surfaces and could reduce the concentration of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and PM10 in the air by as much as 40% and 60%, respectively, under certain conditions.
