The market for equipment and consumables to measure and remove mercury from stack gases will average over $2 billion/yr over the next decade. This is the latest forecast in the online McIlvaine "Mercury Air Reduction Markets".

Oil hits Louisiana`s largest seabird nesting area
Biologists say oil has smeared at least 300-400 pelicans and hundreds of terns in the largest seabird nesting area along the Louisiana shorelines - marking a sharp and sudden escalation in wildlife harmed by BP"s Gulf of Mexico oil spill. The finding underscores that official tallies of birds impacted by the spill could be significantly underestimating the scope of damage.

Compliance threshold breach reporting now made easy through MP-5
Our MP-5 data management systems are in wide use helping clients manage numerical data for compliance and/or sustainability. In the former case clients are frequently obligated to notify regulators in the event of a threshold breach. This is sometimes an arduous task with manual identification that a breach has occurred, cutting and pasting between separate software packages and then e-mailing a report. As an extension to MP-5 we now also offer a system to handle this obligation. In this case a client is alerted by e-mail that a breach has occurred and, as a link from the e-mail, web pages are provided to enable the client to see all the breaches, to fill in and submit regulatory reports in the correct format. Records are kept of all breaches and regulatory reports.
