Canada`s first bio-composite bodied electric car unveiled
Calgary, Alberta-based Motive Industries Inc. has announced the development of Canada`s first bio-composite compact car composed of industrial hemp.
The car will reach top speeds of 55 miles per hour and will have a range of 25 to 100 miles before requiring a battery re-charge according to its developers.
The car, called the Kestrel, will make its full marketing debut during the September EV 2010 VE Conference and Trade Show in Vancouver.

Limiting ocean acidification under global change
New computer simulations have examined the likely effects of mitigation scenarios on ocean acidification trends. They show that both the peak year of emissions and post-peak reduction rates influence how much ocean acidity increases by 2100. Emissions of carbon dioxide are considered to cause ocean acidification as well as global warming.
