Spray drift reduction is goal of proposed ASTM pesticides standard
Regulatory agencies may soon require buffer zones around sprayed farm fields. A proposed ASTM International standard will be used to measure the drift reduction performance of tank mix adjuvants designed to reduce spray drift during the application of pesticides. Farmers can decrease the size of these buffer zones by using these adjuvants. ASTM WK27419, Test Method for Characterization of Performance of Spray Drift Reduction Adjuvants, is currently being developed by Subcommittee E35.22 on Pesticide Formulations and Delivery Systems, part of ASTM International Committee E35 on Pesticides and ...
Exclusive: US firm maps out plan to plot the world`s emissions
How do you measure greenhouse gas emissions? With the future of both international climate change treaties and a new multi-billion dollar carbon market resting on the ability to measure the scale and source of greenhouse emissions the question of how to precisely monitor atmospheric concentrations of trace gases has never been more important, nor potentially lucrative.  Now California-based Picarro is looking to tap into what it estimates could prove a $1bn market with a new greenhouse gas monitoring device that aims to remove the complexity from measuring concentrations of gases such ...
