City Government and IBM Close Partnership to Make Rio de Janeiro a Smarter City

Water quality information in Hawaii
New information about water quality is now available to people living, working, and playing near Hawaii. U.S. Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS®) partners located within the Pacific Islands region recently installed new nutrient sensors on two water quality buoys located at Kilo Nalu and near the Ala Wai outflow. These new sensors will provide early warning of storm runoff or other poor water quality events in the popular beach areas near Waikiki.
