Supporting wastewater monitoring: a new certified reference material for heavy metals in wastewater
JRC-IRMM has released ERM-CA713, a new wastewater certified reference material, developed in support of the Water Framework Directive (WFD, 2000/60/EC). ERM-CA713 was specifically produced to include the four metals cited in the Priority Substances list (Cd, Hg, Ni and Pb) at concentration levels which are targeted to comply with the environmental quality standards (EQSs) referred in Directive 2008/105/EC. Spreading the Word about a Successful Agitation Boat Field Demo
Puck Custom Enterprises, a Cornell pump distributor, showcased their agitation boats and direct injection technology at a farm in Merced, California last week. The demo days, designed to let dairymen and other interested parties see the power of the agitation boat and the benefits of applying the liquid manure to the field using a drag hose system, was held at a working dairy with a very solids laden manure lagoon.
