EPA approves Nebraska’s list of impaired waters
EPA has approved Nebraska’s list of impaired waters, which removes 36 waters from the previous impaired waters list and adds 107 waters. Today’s decision brings the total number of impaired waters in the state to 259.  EPA Region 7 Administrator Karl Brooks said, “The impaired waters list helps the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality set priorities for restoration activities and reduce sources of water pollution in the state. Vietnamese drinking water supply to be improved
The Dutch engineering and consultancy firm DHV has won two contracts to improve the drinking water supply for tens of thousands of local residents in southern Vietnam. DHV has been commissioned to design two water treatment plants, a pumping station, and up to 150 kilometres of drinking water pipes. Slot Injector Aeration System for Large Scale Nitrogen Removal Project

During the Fall of 2010 KLa Systems successfully started up their slot injector aeration system at one of the world’s largest food processing plants. The slot injector system is installed in two, 2.25 million gallon reactors, and consists of four aeration headers, four 125 Hp recirculation pumps and four 200 Hp blower packages. The system is designed for total nitrogen removal such that either reactor can run anoxic with only one recirculation pump in operation. The KLa slot injector system has a total oxygen transfer capacity of 160,000 lb/d.
