Surface waters: 12 new controlled chemicals, three pharmaceuticals on watch list
Twelve new substances will be added to the EU priority list of those known to pose a pollution risk to surface waters under rules endorsed by MEPs on Tuesday. For the first time, three pharmaceuticals will also be included in a "watch list" of emerging pollutants that could one day be placed on the priority list.“Water policy is a long-term policy. Miramar treatment plant achieves highest level of performance
The City of San Diego’s Miramar Water Treatment Plant has received the prestigious Phase IV "Presidents Award" recognition from the Partnership for Safe Water. The Partnership program is an initiative developed by the USEPA, AWWA, and other water organizations representing water suppliers working to provide their communities with drinking water quality that surpasses the required federal standards, through treatment plant and distribution system optimization.
