In the wake of a recent controversy over the retreat of Himalayan glaciers, in which the UN`s climate science body admitted that the assertion they would disappear by 2035 was an error, water availability has emerged as a key issue of even greater uncertainty. Spain provides additional $10 million for water, clean energy funds
The Government of Spain is providing an additional $5 million each to the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-administered Water Financing Partnership Facility (WFPF) and Clean Energy Financing Partnership Facility (CEFPF). `The two facilities were created to help mobilize finance to bolster energy and water security in our region by supporting low-carbon energy investment and more effective water management options.
