US EPA Awards United Water for ‘Outstanding’ Operation of Westerly, RI, Wastewater Treatment Plant
The US Environmental Protection Agency has awarded United Water the 2012 Regional EPA Wastewater Treatment Plant Excellence Award for its “outstanding operations and management” of the Westerly, RI, Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The plant was nominated by the Rhode Island of Environmental Management (RIDEM) to acknowledge the work performed over the years by United Water staff under the leadership of Scott Duerr, project manager and Paul Corina, Utilities Superintendent for the Town of Westerly.
