Acid Neutralizing Filter
Drinking water treatment using activated carbon (AC) filtration is one option for a homeowner to treat drinking water problems. AC filtration is an effective method for treating certain organic compounds, unpleasant tastes and odors. The superior adsorption qualities of activated charcoal make it a popular choice for water filters. These filters are typical in the homes of people who prefer the taste and health benefits of drinking pure, contaminant-free water. When the water passes through the charcoal filter, the impurities are caught in the charcoal's deep pores, trapping them there until the filter is replaced. Unpleasant tastes and odors caused by chlorine and decayed vegetation are absorbed by top quality activated carbon. Automatic backwashing cleans the filter and readies it for operation again.
Activated carbon (AC) filtration is most effective...
Activated carbon (AC) filtration is most effective in removing organic contaminants from water. Organic substances are composed of two basic elements, carbon and hydrogen. Because organic chemicals are often responsible for taste, odor, and color problems, AC filtration can generally be used to improve aesthetically objectionable water. AC filtration is recognized by the Water Quality Association as an acceptable method to maintain certain drinking water contaminants within the limits of the EPA National Drinking Water Standards.
The Eagle Activated Carbon (AC) Acid Neutralizing filter is intended to be an effective and economical way to remove unwanted odors from water without the use of messy and dangerous chemicals or expensive pumps or an external venturi. The Units high quality valve uses a patented construction and large LCD display to allow for accurate monitoring of the filters operation. An AC filtration system should be selected based on a water analysis and assessment of an individual homeowner’s needs and situation. Regular replacement of the filter/cartridge is critical to maintain effectiveness and reduce bacterial contamination of the filter. The CSA, NSF and the WQA test and certify products. This certification can help guide selection.
