Continuously Remove Oil and Sheen at Marinas and Docks
Oil releases and oil sheen are continual issues at ports and marinas and on bodies of water adjacent to industrial operations.
The Boom & Dock Curtain is constructed of a loop of ADsorb-it Filtration Fabric to form a curtain approximately 15 inches high by 10 feet in length. Polypropylene webbing is attached to the edges of the curtain for vertical reinforcement and to the top edge to allow the placement of grommets for mounting.
Grommets and snap hooks are placed at each end and at 20 inch intervals along the top edge of the curtain. There are also grommets placed at 10 inches in from each end for interconnecting multiple units. There are grommets and snap hooks at the lower ends of the curtain loop for attachment and removal of the lightweight ballast chain that is installed in the lower extreme of the curtain.
For oil releases adjacent to floating docks or in an area where Fence Boom has been deployed, attach the Boom & DockTM Curtain to the floating docks or to the top of the Fence Boom. The Boom & Dock Curtain is designed with ballast chain to ensure that the curtain hangs just below the floats of the Fence Boom. Oils, oil-borne contaminants and oil sheen will be retained in the fabric.
To reuse the Boom & Dock Curtain, simply remove the ballast chain and snap hooks, and press, wring, or centrifuge to remove and recover the retained oils. Replace the ballast chain and the Boom & Dock Curtain is ready to reuse.

ADsorb-it’s wicking action allows the oils, oil sheen and oil-borne contaminants to be contained in the entire fabric as opposed to only the point of contact. Oil and oil sheen adhere to the ADsorb-it fibers and are not displaced by water.
For Shoreline Protection
Adsorb-it conforms easily to uneven surfaces such as shorelines, streambeds and rock formations or may be configured into a barrier fence as used by BP for the Gulf Oil Spill.
ADsorb-it inhibits oils and oil-borne contaminants in water from impacting the land, and contaminants on land from impacting the water. Equally effective wet or dry, in salt or fresh water. The oil displaces the water in the fabric.
For Oil Recovery
Allows the recovery of adsorbed oils and oil-borne contaminants.
Oil may be recovered from the filtration fabric by physical means (wringing, pressing, centrifuge, etc.) after which you may reuse it with little reduction in its efficacy.
For Ditch or Pond Liners
Excellent liner for drainage ditches or retention ponds where oil pollution is a problem.
Oils are held in the filter fabric matrix and allowed to degrade naturally. ADsorb-it inhibits oil and oil-borne contaminant pollution on water from spreading to the surrounding soil or perking from the soil to the water.
