Recuperative Thermal Oxidizers are complex incineration systems that employ exchangers, boilers, or hot oil heaters to recover energy from high temperature flue gases. These systems can utilize a recuperative system to minimize fuel gas consumption, allowing for economical operation. Moreover, this type of equipment is ideal for sensitive areas that require heat recovery, low emissions, minimal noise, and smokeless combustion. Catalytic and combination thermal/catalytic versions of this equipment are also available from AEREON.

Thermal oxidizers designed to incinerate low BTU streams efficiently typically consume forbidding amount of fuel gas to maintain destruction temperature. The fuel gas consumption may be reduced by introducing some form of heat or energy recovery.

FIRECAT Recuperative Oxidizers employ shell-and-tube heat exchangers, boilers or hot oil heaters to take advantage of the heat available in flue gases. In this way, the heat from flue gases is constantly used to heat oil, generate steam, or preheat waste gas and combustion air, thereby reducing fuel gas consumption and related costs.
