BiPolar - Air Purification System for Commercial HVAC Systems
From HVAC Solutions
BiPolar Ionization is a proven and effective way to remove odors, volatile organic compounds, allergens, and other contamination from air and surfaces. Ionization is an energy-efficient disinfection process because no waste is produced in the form of heat, light, or other unneeded forms of energy.
The BiPolar product line is available in a number of standardized configurations designed to work with the broadest possible combination of HVAC applications.
Contact BioZone for more information on the specific BiPolar version which will help achieve the best possible indoor air quality for your venue.
In nature, ions naturally filter pollutants from the air we breathe. Negative ions contain an extra electron, while positive ions are missing an electron.
As a result of the electron mismatch, ions are inherently unstable, and in turn, quickly seek out atoms and molecules with which to exchange electrons. Ions react with compounds such as VOCs, odorous gases, and aerosols, as well as pathogens including bacteria, mold, fungus, and viruses.
BioZone’s BiPolar Ionization line includes both retrofit and factory mount options that can allow buildings to reduce makeup/outside air requirements by 50% or more, compliant with the ASHRAE 62.1 Indoor Air Quality Procedure.
This can lead to a 20-40% reduction in HVAC energy spend for the building.
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a membership-based nonprofit that promotes sustainability in buildings design, construction, and operation.
USGBC is best known for its development of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating systems. Its annual Greenbuild International Conference & Expo is the world’s largest event dedicated to green building.
USGBC advocates the approach taken by BioZone Scientific to treat indoor air quality by removing gas-phase contamination, as opposed to alternative methods that use exhaust of return air and make-up of outdoor air.
USGBC recently launched a LEED pilot program in which installing BioZone Scientific’s Bipolar system will help the project qualify for points.
Our technology has also been used to qualify for LEED points for Innovation (IN), Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ) and Energy and Atmosphere (EA).
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Department of Energy (DoE) created the ENERGY STAR certification in 1992 to set the international standard for energy efficient consumer products.
Appliances and equipment such as refrigerators, dryers, ice machines have ENERGY STAR certification, but did you know that commercial buildings and industrial plants are eligible for ENERGY STAR programs, too?
BioZone Scientific can help your building earn or maintain this respected designation.
Sustainability is a defining element of modern and responsible business strategy and performance.
BioZone Scientific bipolar technology has delivered considerable performance and value to various sustainability projects, including Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Certification, and Green Globes.
