For drying and purifying the feed air to cryogenic plants, MOLSIV 13X APG adsorbent has been the industry standard due to its high dynamic water and CO2 adsorption capacity. The newest addition to our cryogenic air separation portfolio, MOLSIV APG III adsorbent, offers enhanced CO2 adsorption capacity compared to 13X APG and competitive 13X adsorbents. In a new plant or in a revamp, this increased capacity can help significantly reduce capital and operating costs and offer greater operational flexibility. For non-cryogenic O2 plants, UOP also offers a variety of adsorbents with high N2 capacity and selectivity. The latest generation products, MOLSIV PSAO2-XP, for PSA units, and VSA-10, an advanced LiX adsorbent for VSA plants, are engineered to provide improved plant economics.
Hydrogen and carbon monoxide production
UOP MOLSIV adsorbents play a key role in the design of efficient processes for purifying synthesis gas (syngas) streams prior to further downstream processing. The high efficiency of MOLSIV adsorbents also improves the economics of PSA H2 processes. These highly selective MOLSIV adsorbents remove the impurities to very low levels, enabling the production of H2 with greater than 99.9 percent purity.
