ASTIM - Model ARC - Curved Bar Screen
The volume of undersize material that passes between the wedge bars is largely determined by the slicing action and the drag created by the preceding bar. It is important therefore that the passing slurry be held in heavy contact with the screen surface. The continuously curved surface design of arc curve screens provides this holding action and produces high capacity, efficient separation and a dry coarse product discharge. Astim offers two different types of Arc Curved Bar Screens “ACS” which are mainly consisting of curved bar screens, dead plate and discharge chute which is equipped with arm rake and a cleaning wiper. In these different types of designs the arm rake is either rotating drawing a circular or a curbed arc orbit.
The screenings are hold on curved bar screens causing a clogging and as the water flow reaches to set level sending a signal to start the raking mechanism. The raking arm which is connected to the chassis is lowered in the channel and rake teeth enter between the very low point of the bar screen. During upwards movement the screenings are dragged and collected by the rake. Finally at the discharge point the debris is removed by cleaning to a container or a transporter for further processing.
