Atana - Dissolved Air Flotation System (DAF)
Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) Is a clarifying water treatment process for the separation of suspended solids; fats, oils, and grease (FOG). The advantages of DAF systems include their ability to concentrate and remove a wide range of suspended solids in wastewater at a high rate of removal.
The DAF works by producing a stream of micro-fine bubbles that attach to solids, lifting them to the surface where they can be removed by a surface skimming mechanism.
DAF systems can be applied as a pre-treatment to meet specific limits for FOG and/or suspended solids set by a municipality or to remove contaminants that would negatively impact an industrial biological wastewater treatment system downstream.
DAF technology is ideally suited to particles that are slow settling, of neutral density or buoyant. This is particularly applicable to food and other industries where solids are fluffy, light, and slow to settle.
