In:

  • waste water with emulsion risk
  • businesses in particularly sensitive areas (e.g. drinking water protection zones)
  • direct sewage disposal into a body of water (lake, stream, ground water) or seepage
  • sewer disposal without subsequent treatment plant

According to the EN 858-2 standard in table B.2, the following applies for businesses without any connection to the sewerage system.

"Waste water from the separator may not be disposed of directly in surface bodies of water. (…) (sewage disposal is only permitted) … when the waste water (…) has undergone additional treatment."

Furthermore, this standard stipulates that the "cleaning with the HD device, rotation cleaner and removal of large quantities of paraffin, wax or similar as well as rust protective treatment" are only permitted with an emulsion treatment step or further waste water treatment.

BENE DEMULGON, the physical adsorption and emulsion separator system, fulfils these criteria.

Unlike conventional additional cleaning steps (e.g. chemical separation systems) it takes care of this:

  • without outside energy and with
  • minimum operating costs.

BENE DEMULGON is the ideal alternative to chemical emulsion separation systems. With similar cleaning performance, ecology and economy achieve a healthy balance.

  • 0.5 to 1.7 mg/l total KW – Contents on adding 5,000 mg/l KW
  • Test with LGA/TÜV
  • Practical tests prove the system`s effectiveness, even with extremely contaminated and emulsified waste water.

adsorbable / very good adsorbability:

  • Petrol
  • Diesel
  • Superfuel
  • Motor oil
  • Synthetic oils
  • Kerosene
  • Vegetable fats
  • Animal fats
  • BTX (benzene, toluene, xylene)
  • PAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons)
  • Automobile cleaning detergent
  • Soaps
  • Drilling oils (depending on product)

  • Heavy metals
  • Drilling oils (depending on product)
  • Precise areas of use on request
  • Physical adsorption and emulsion separator system
  • Highest cleaning performance
  • Patented
  • Easy to use
  • Minimum use of auxiliary materials
  • Low operating costs
  • Lowest maintenance
  • Minimum production of hazardous waste

with other BENE products

BENE DEMULGON is used according to coalescence or fat separators. From an ecological and economical point of view the most sensible option is to install behind a:

  • TURBO high-performance separator BENE SECURON or
  • fat separator machine BENE LIPON

These remove oil or fat from the danger zone and, in doing so, achieve:

  • optimum pre-treatment.
  • even longer service lives of the BENE CARBIX active unit.
  • guarantees optimised cleaning performance.

Guiding plates divert the waste water to the cartridge.

Cleaning process:

The highly active BENE CARBIX active unit, an extremely strong-pored polyurethane frame waterproofed with vacuum-metalised adsorbents, absorbs oil and oleophilic residual materials from the water. The highly-porous structure guarantees high flow rates.

The vacuum-metalised adsorbents guarantee a huge surface with fine pores on which the dirt particles come together into large drops due to molecule-molecule-attraction (London dispersion force). These dirt drops detach themselves from the BENE CARBIX and float or settle.

  • pulverised, agglomerated, highly active granulate-active carbon
  • strongest physical adsorption force
  • surface with excellent hardness properties for long service life
  • freely accessible micro-pores
  • extremely high pore volume
  • enormous, efficient loading capacity
  • maximum filter surface over the smallest carrying structure area (3g of this active carbon will cover the surface of a football pitch)
  • substrate: reticulated, pre-defined synthetic pores with defined pore size
  • optimised flow rate

BENE DEMULGON is

physical adsorption and emulsion separation, that is, it works according to the principle of adsorption.

Benefit during operation:

  • the only maintenance task compared to other chemical separation systems is replacing the BENE CARBIX active unit (depending on usage)

Economic benefit:

  • annual savings of up to 20,000 EUR in operating costs at normal waste water usage

Benefits to the environment:

  • only small quantities of "fixed, fat and oil-lubricated resources" (ASN 160107 - German waste code number) when changing the BENE CARBIX active unit
  • no large quantities of environmentally damaging hazardous waste
  • no expensive disposal
  • no electrics, control systems or outside energy
