Berkeley - Model 845 - 100 kHz to 12, 20, 26.5 GHz RF / Microwave Signal Generator
From RF / Microwave Generators and Synthesizers
Berkeley Nucleonics' Model 845 RF Microwave Signal Generator is a low-noise and fast-switching microwave signal generator covering a frequency range from 100 kHz up to 26.5 GHz (with the option to extend the frequency to 9 kHz). The Model 845 Microwave RF Signal Generator offers a wide and accurately-levelled output power range with high spurious suppression. Advanced frequency synthesis with fractional-N divider makes for low SSB phase noise and micro-Hz frequency resolution.

Rich Set of Features in the Model 845 Series
The Model 845 Microwave RF Signal Generator also includes AM, DC-coupled, low distortion wideband-FM, PM, FSK and PSK, frequency chirp, and fast pulse modulation with an internal pulse train generator as standard. Three internal modulation sources are available, and all modulation modes can be combined. This allows the generation of complex modulation signals for modern communication and location systems.
The Model 845 is ideally suited for applications where a high-quality CW microwave source with analog modulation is required. The Model 845 operates with an ultra-stable temperature compensated 100 MHz reference (OCXO) and can be phase-locked to any external reference from 1 to 250 MHz. Additionally, the combination of pulse modulation and FM simulates Doppler effects or chirp signals. Simultaneous AM and pulse modulation provide the types of signals occurring in pulse radar applications with a rotating antenna. What's more, the combination of FM and AM can be used to check the fading effects of FM receivers.
The Model 845 operates on line or battery power making it useful for field applications or large laboratories. Although the Model 845 Microwave / RF Signal Generator introduces the smallest footprint in its class, it clearly can fill the largest shoes!
