The bioFAS SAGR MTU-2 and MTU-4 are complete autonomous wastewater treatment units designed to provide reliable and efficient BOD removal, nitrification and denitrification. The heart of the system is a patented high-strength linear composite material developed by bioprocessH2O scientists and engineers that has been successfully used in applications for more than 20 years. The high surface area composite material, referred to as “looped chord media”, is designed to physically entrap and bind waste digesting microbes thereby establishing a resident and stable population of organisms that effectively reduce COD, BOD, ammonia and nitrate. The bioFAS SAGR MTU systems are high rate compact biofilm systems that are simple to operate and resilient to toxic shock loads.
