Coriolis µ, is a microbial air sampler for bio-contamination assessment, mainly dedicated to research, hospitals, pharmaceutical industries, offices, houses... for air quality control and air quality monitoring. With its liquid output, Coriolis μ is adapted to any scientific research in microbiology. Toxins, virus, bacteria, molds, pollens, spores are collected and concentrated in a liquid.

In order to optimize the air sampling methods, the parameters of the Coriolis µ can be set up: through a simple and intuitive interface, the air flow rate can be adjusted from 100 to 300 liters/min, the time from 1 to 10 min and a delay before starting the run can be set up.

Multiple samplings are easy as no decontamination step is needed between samplings thanks to single use cones with screw caps and collection liquid.
The Coriolis µ air sampler is portable and can be used either on main power supply or on battery (around 1 hour of battery life, for the time of collection). For sampling studies on the field, the Transport box ensures a quick deployment and protection of the device and accessories.

For studies on decontamination technologies and microbial contamination, purging a confined box for microbial analysis or air sampling from a testing chamber with dynamic fluids is possible with the air intake of a 25 mm connection.

Coriolis µ air sampler has been qualified and validated by independent laboratories Health Protection Agency (UK) according to ISO 14698-1 : Biocontamination Control – General Principle and methods. Our valuable users have generated scientific publications that confirm the capability of Coriolis µ compared to impaction or culture.

The decontamination procedure is crucial in the context of air quality control, that is the reason why the parts of the Coriolis µ air sampler which are in contact with air and collection liquid are either autoclavable (air intake and cane) or single use (consumables). The surface can be disinfected by ordinary disinfectants. The equipment can also undergo hydrogen peroxide vaporisation to be totally decontaminated.

The Coriolis μ was developed to go beyond traditional techniques performances. Indeed, traditional techniques rely on the impaction of particles on a solid agar medium and are thus limited by low flow rates, unreliable impaction and a longer analysis time. They are also restricted to cultivable flora studies.

In contrast, the wet walled cyclonic Coriolis rapidly collects and concentrates biological particles into liquid at a high air flow rate (300 lpm); the sample liquid output is then compatible with a number of Rapid Microbiological Methods (RMM) including PCR, immuno-analysis, flow cytometry... and reliable results can be obtained in only a few hours!

Even when the concentration of target particles is low or when events occur unexpectedly, the Coriolis μ is the ideal solution!

  1. Sterile cone prefilled with specific liquid sample
  2. Air is aspirated and drawn into the cone forming a vortex
  3. Particles are centrifuged into the wall of the cone and separated from the air
  4. Contaminants in the liquid sample are ready for analysis
