Filters for Drinking Water
From Plants Division
Applications: Water destined for human consumption must meet the requirements set by the regulation in force (D.Lgs 02/02/2001 n. 31). It therefore often undergoes different treatments. ECOSYSTEMS has reached a high technological level for this type of water treatment. It has particular expertise in the selective elimination of arsenic, flouride, nickel, and nitrates, as well as long experience in water softening and systems for the removal of iron and manganese.

This expertise has been made possible by investment on the part of the Center for Research and Development. This has allowed for the detection and provision of innovative technical solutions for the resolution of clients' specific problems not only by means of an internal laboratory but also through collaboration with the Department of Chemical Engineering (Environment and Materials) of the University of Rome, 'La Sapienza.'
General Characteristics
The removal process is based on the principal of water absorption over a filtering bed made of adsorbent material which has been carefully selected in accordance with the single or multiple composite to be eliminated.
The process requires no chemical additives and does not produce sediments and functions without costly regulatory and control techniques. The counter-wash of the filtering bed, against the flow, has the exclusive aim to prepare the filtering bed carefully for the removal of the designated material.
This phase is regulated according to timed cycles by software that manages the running of the entire system. In addition, each individual filter is fitted with a differential manostat. The manostat provides continuous monitoring of pressure differences between the water entering and exiting the filter which is necessary to monitor the packaging. The water produced by the counter-wash of the filtering bed, done periodically in counter flow, respect the limits of D.L. 152/06 and can thus be released into surface waters or public drains.
The process is by rule completely automated by means of the installation of an electric command panel. This comes with a PLC and presets for alarm signals out and for the memorization of all the functions remotely so that the overseeing by an operator is not required in the various work phases.
