 The Ubicom transceiver integrates all electronics, antennas and antenna cables into a single device, for simplicity of installation and reliability.

 Redundancy for reliability

Ubicom maximizes the reliabilty of your data. Use it as a backup (or replacement) for GOES / Meteosat, cellular, or any other telemetry method you are currently using. It’s designed to work with multiple satellite service providers and cellular networks.

 Transmit any size data, even over satellite

Ubicom uses “Short Burst Data” (SBD) satellite service, which can send a maximum of 340 bytes at a time. This makes communication reliable and efficient, and keeps costs low. Ubicom adds a proprietary “packetizing protocol” which allows much larger data to be transmitted by breaking it into smaller packets, then re-assembling the packets once they’ve been received on the other end.

Configurable duty cycle

“Duty cycle” refers to how often the Ubicom transceiver becomes active and ready to send or receive data. With a high duty cycle, more power is consumed, but it is more frequently available to transmit or receive data. On the flip side, a low duty cycle consumes less power, but pending transmissions must more frequently wait until the transceiver becomes active again.

Diagnose problems remotely

Download a remote log file. Issue an SDI command. Try a reboot (it’s still the most common way to resolve most problems with dataloggers).
