Geotechnical Service
Geotechnical site characterization plays an important role in site selection and project design, and can help identify and avoid construction delays and costly changes. SAGEprovides the geotechnical engineering services required for the design and construction of new facilities, and evaluation and repair of existing facilities. Our geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists utilize soil borings, cone penetration tests, rock coring, and geophysics to conduct comprehensive investigations designed to characterize sites in terms of soil, groundwater, geologic, and seismic conditions.

We develop field investigation programs specific to each site’s unique geotechnical and access challenges. The investigation program is crafted to appropriately characterize subsurface conditions and evaluate the key engineering properties that will impact the design, construction, and long-term performance of the improvements.
By combining geologic knowledge and geotechnical expertise with our considerable experience in structural design and construction oversight, our staff provides realistic geotechnical recommendations indispensable to structural designers. Ultimately, the goal of investigation is to provide geotechnical recommendations that lead to cost-effective and constructable designs.
SAGE Geotechnical Services include:
- Soil, Rock, & Groundwater Characterization
- Earth Dam & Levee Design
- Foundation Selection
- Slope/Bank Stability Analysis
- Liquefaction Analysis
- Seepage Analysis
- Excavation Support Selection
- Ground Improvement Selection
