For bulk drying stores with a new main air duct, threaded ‘L’ rods are cast into the air duct end of both types of the GFT Floor System. For 10’-0” (3 metres) level fill storage, a 5” x 5” (120 x 120 x 8 mm) heavy duty steel angle iron is attached to the rods. For 12’-0” (3.65 metres) level fill storage, a 6” x 6” (150 x 150 x 10 mm) heavy duty steel angle iron is attached to the rods. The main air duct frames are then positioned on and bolted, or welded, to the angle iron fixing. Where a main air duct is installed suitable for a stirrer system, the air duct is either fixed to the concrete air duct plinth for the GFT Hard Core Floor System, or to the existing concrete floor for the GFT Granary Floor System. In this situation, the air control plates are supplied as part of the main air duct.
