Offshore certified, Gobbler is designed to meet this requirement and effectively respond to all situations. By design, the vessel can operate 24/7, eliminating the need to return ashore to discharge. The patented Gobbler vessel is uniquely versatile and suitable for all pollution incidents worldwide. Capable of operating in Arctic to Tropical locations and in ocean conditions up to 60 nm offshore (Gulf of Mexico 2010), or from a mother-ship, this compact, highly manoeuvrable jet drive vessel is equally effective in rivers, lakes, wetlands, harbours, coastal waters or historically polluted areas, and can recover oil from the lowest water mark. The Gobbler can respond to all sizes and types of oil incident from small spills and breakaway pockets to large established slicks.
The Gobbler vessel can respond quickly, a speed of over 20 knots* enables rapid deployment to pollution incidents. Gobbler is easily launched by custom road trailer from the most inhospitable terrains. In the event of height restrictions (low bridges) the wheelhouse is easily detached and stowed on the aft deck. The boat/trailers are designed to fit the load space of transport aircraft, enabling them to be deployed globally to remote or isolated locations (Think! Exxon Valdez 1989). Gobbler’s offshore certification allows deployment directly from commercial ships, tankers and oil platforms, ensuring instant clean-up of spills at sea before they cause environmental and commercial damage ashore.

A range of innovative skimmers can recover up to 40 tonnes of water-free oil per hour*, with the unique hull design drawing oil to the skimmer. Recovered oil is pumped via an internal system to quick-release towed bladders enabling recovery operations to run continuously. Mother-ship support combined with an optional OctoPod™/QuadPod™ enables group working with greatly increased recovery rates.
*With lighter oils, such as diesel, there could be a maximum of 2% water.

Solid State Electrics provide better than 95% spark-free operation.
- Jet Intake Auto Clean, in hazardous locations (crocodiles, leeches, snakes) it eliminates the need to dive under the vessel in the event of an obstruction.
- Quick-release of loads allows high-speed exits from dangerous situations (e.g. flameouts).
Each Gobbler vessel can be quickly adapted by use of optional extras to specific client requirements, without further alteration to the basic vessel. Flag state and regional requirements can be met with the addition of “plug and play” add-ons, some of which are mandatory for vessels being used in certain operational working conditions or locations, or because of individual Flag State requirements.

The custom design lightweight 5th wheel trailer complies with international road regulations. It allows our vessels to be easily transported for launch from regular or hostile terrains closest to the spill site. An optional tow truck is available and the truck/trailer/vessel combination will fit the hold space of regular transport aircraft, allowing for ease of deployment to isolated locations worldwide.RapidSplash Ship stowage and launch cradle
The semi-submersible cradle, based upon an ISO container footprint, allows our vessels “drive in/drive out” ease of launch and recovery from commercial ships, tankers and oil rigs. It also doubles as secure stowage for container ships. Alternatively, the cradle can be used for transporting our vessels by road transport or train if the custom road trailer has not been purchased.Oil Storage Bladders
Unlike other OSRV’s we do not store recovered oil in on-board tanks. Our unique skimmer delivers oil through a patented internal transfer system to the high-visibility, hydro-dynamic, detachable and reusable towed bladders which are available in selectable capacities ranging from 200 to 3500 US Gallons. Approved solar powered lights are available for night time operations with bladder tracking systems currently under review.
Filled bladders are quickly disconnected and float free for later collection, or emptied individually or simultaneously to a mother-ship via a Gobbler OctoPod™/QuadPod™. (See below)
Suitable for day or night use, the Pods are intended to complement group working vessels, or for simultaneous emptying by a single pump in confined locations. They are designed to suit the lifting capacity of various helicopters and contain refuelling facilities and spare bladders to ensure ongoing recovery operations until the arrival of support vessels. Up to eight filled bladders can be emptied simultaneously via a central suction port when connected to a mother-ship.

Gobbler Boats lightweight patented semi-submersible bladder lifting slings enable filled bladders to be floated in and then hoisted aboard a mother-ship or dock in the event that pumping facilities are unavailable.
