Heavy Metal Purification by Ion Exchange Technique
From Water Purification
Ion exchange is a great alternative to metal precipitation in cases where the metal content is a little lower in the water. Particle filters are used first in the process to getting a low particle content in the water both to meet emissions standards and to protect the subsequent ion exchangers. The major advantage of ion exchangers is that the mass is consumed only when the water is dirty. Is the water clean for a period , no consumption occur.
Carbon filters are used to ensure that any dioxins are separated.
- Low maintenance due to few moving parts in the process
- Exchange resins are used only if the water is polluted
