iQuest - Model iCE3 3G - Wireless Telemetry Circuit Extender
The iCE3 3G, affectionately nick-named the 'iCECube', is a wireless telemetry device that enables non-IP capable devices to be remotely accessed or telemetered through a cellular network. Such devices (which are fitted with an RS232 port), include dataloggers, PLCs and intelligent instruments. Datalogging: The current iCE3 3G model has two physical inputs (digital and analogue and is capable of datalogging as a stand-alone device for small installations. iCE3 3G provides all the IP network connectivity, link maintenance and if necessary, RS232 handshaking required to successfully communicate with, and send wireless data the host device. The product has been widely accepted by the market since its original release as a GPRS only device back in March 2004. It is performing effectively and reliably in a number of wireless telemetry installations, including environmental datalogging, flow metering and remote wireless control.
The iCE3 3G now supercedes the legacy GPRS iCE3 which although no longer available is still supported by iQuest.
Based on a high performance wireless CPU core from Wavecom, the iCE3 3G is packaged in a compact metal enclosure with easy access to the SIM card and power, communications and antenna connectors. A distinctive blue status LED provides indication for diagnostic purposes. The power requirements are configurable.
The iCE3 3G comes complete with a power lead and mounting brackets. Optional accessories include a small stubby antenna and a serial data communication cable that is pre-wired for the intended host device.
All iQuest datalogger products as well as a wide range of third party products such as Campbell Scientific Inc and Unidata dataloggers are supported by the iCE3 3G.
