LifeSource - Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis Systems
From Water Purification
Brackish water reverse osmosis systems are most commonly used for purifying ground water with moderate salt concentration that is not potable water quality. These systems are not as complex as seawater systems but require mandatory services, which are necessary for successful operation. Our years of experience have taught us that brackish water R/O systems are some of the most challenging of the R/O process. This is due to the unlimited combination of impurities found in the feed water that must be addressed to assure continuous and economical operation. LifeSource Engineering conducts extensive research for our clients so far as to provide the optimal process and training for each project.
Product Details
This 6,000 gallon per day brackish water reverse osmosis system was commissioned at Venta Club, Rock Sound, Eleuthera, Bahamas in 1998. The system was designed to process the 2,500-4,000 TDS biologically contaminated, municipal well water to supply the resort kitchen and service bars with purified water. Sediment and carbon cartridge filtration, along with antiscalant, are used for pre-treatment of the well water. The single pass R/O array produces an average permeate quality of 100-150 ppm before the post-treatment consisting of: calcium carbonate contact tank for pH adjustment, zinc injection for corrosion control, and ultra-violet.
