How large is a nanogram?
It is difficult to perceive the magnitude of a nanogram. The analogy below brings this into perspective.
Local to our parent company in Germany is a lake. This lake has surface area of about 30km and an average depth of 2 metres.
The volume therefore = 60,000,000m3.
A cube of sugar weighs 2 grams, or 2,000,000,000ng. If this cube of sugar were dissolved in the lake and homogeneously distributed the concentration would be 33ng/m3.
From the above diagram dependent on applications and inlet concentration it can be seen that emission concentrations of between 0.15 and 0.02ng/Nm3 are achievable
