To ensure maximum protection from the adherence of silicate muds, the following system should be employed:
- Pre-wash the rig components that would generally come in contact with mud. This includes the mud tanks, shakers, centrifuges, B.O.P.’s, sub-structure, the A-legs and even the Draw-works. Using the wash gun or spray tank, follow the mixing instructions and apply MF-RIG MATE on those components or problem areas.
- If silicate mud is splashed on rig, clean immediately with scrub brush and MF-SILSOAP. Re-apply MFRIG MATE to protect rig surface. As with any mud, cleaning will be made easier by not allowing the mud to dry.
