Model CO2OLpac - Refrigeration Plant
CO2OLpac is Star’s award winning range of volatile CO2 packages designed to deal with the intense heat loads produced by computer blade servers. Developed in association with IT cooling partner TROX AITCS, these units are available in three formats: CPC – Cooled using chilled water. CPA – Includes R134a high side refrigeration plant using the high efficiency Turbocor compressor and an air cooled condenser. Option for ammonia refrigeration circuit available. CPW – R134a high side refrigeration plant using the high efficiency Turbocor compressor and water cooled condenser. Option for ammonia refrigeration circuit available.
CO2OLpac circulates carbon dioxide (CO2) as a cooling fluid to CO2OLrac devices fitted to the rear of computer equipment cabinets. These fan-powered units draw rejected blade server heat across a heat exchanger. The liquid CO2 absorbs the heat load, enabling the servers to have zero impact on the surrounding space.
The innovative system was the result of a three-year development programme. CO2OLpac installation projects have been successfully completed for major banking organisations. Star and TROX AITCS provide a complete turnkey package inclusive of the M&E installation works associated with connecting the CO2OLpac and CO2OLrac devices.
