Model MBR - Membrane Bioreactors



The technique of membrane bioreactors (MBR) is the combination of the processing and separation of biological sludge. It is made using micro or ultrafiltration membranes with pore sizes from 10 nm to 0.5 microns to produce a particle-free water treatment. The latter step replaces the final sedimentation tank used in the conventional BIOS lamb documents separates by gravity force. The physical barrier membrane creates provides complete Disinfecting of the treated water. It also allows operation at higher sludge concentrations (typically up to 12 g / l instead of max. 3 g / l of a conventional works) and the necessary volume, area and / or sludge production may decrease. Purac makes MBR's for large municipal wastewater solutions that can either be immersed in concrete tanks or packaged sidströmmar for smaller flows.
