Wherever possible treatability studies should be conducted in advance and a precise treatment plan prescribed on the basis of the preliminary study. Bulk hydrocarbons should be first removed through trenches, well-points, or vacuum extraction. Basic soil analysis including type, conductivity, pH, moisture, heavy metals, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and trace elements should be made and used to develop a site specific work plan. If analysis of the site conditions indicates that in situ treatment has a high probability of success. Apply NUTRI-BIO 1000 at a rate of 3% to 10% by weight to ratio of contaminant depending of type and concentration of contamination. Apply this amount divided equally over 2 to 3 applications, 7 days apart by diluting with 80 to 150 parts natural water, preferably, or contaminated ground water to 1 part concentrate. Apply to site by flooding, infiltration galleries, or trenches. Recovery wells should be established down-gradient as well as ground-water monitoring wells. Peroxygen solutions can be administered to the site in the same manner with alternate applications. This product may also be used in conjunction with microbial amendments to sites.
If a site is not a candidate for in situ treatment, the soil may be excavated and treated on plastic or other impermeable liners; treated in the top 10 to 18 inches of surface; or treated, mixed and replaced
FOR LANDFARMING TREATMENT
Apply NUTRI-BIO 1000 at a rate of 3% to 10% by weight to ratio of contaminant equally divided over 3 to 4 applications, 7 days apart by diluting with 80 to 150 parts natural water, preferably, to 1 part concentrate. Consult with the manufacturer for procedures for immediate replacement of treated soil. NUTRI-BIO 1000 may be used in conjunction with microbial amendments to the soil and peroxygen amendments. Treatability studies should be completed prior to full-scale treatment in order to determine optimal application and combination rates.
