Model WR-G303i - PC-Based Dedicated HF Surveillance Receivers
If you are looking for a good quality full featured HF receiver for experimental or specialized applications, we have the answer for you. Our G303i series is a low cost 'software defined' HF receiver for internal PC installation.
Two models are available: The WR-G303i base model covers the range form 9KHz to 30MHz with a 1Hz tuning resolution. It lets you operate in either AM, AMN, AMS, LSB, USB, CW, FM3, FM6, or FMN modes. The basic WR-G303i comes with a Standard Demodulator.
The WR-G303i-PD features the same specifications but in addition you get the Professional Demodulator with: continuous IF filter bandwidth adjustment (in 1Hz increments), interactive block diagrams with two additional audio spectrum scopes, and even inbuilt THD and SINAD measurement facilities. The Professional Demodulator improves sensitivity further by making it possible to extend filter lengths, and adjust the IF bandwidth for optimum reception of the received signal: This results in a typical improvement by 2-3 dB on AM/SSB/FM and up to 10 dB on CW.
The WR-G303e is an external (USB interface) version of the above WR-G303i receiver, with identical performance. The demodulation is performed by the PC using advanced digital signal processing techniques. Simple 'Plug and Play' installation.
This is an internal HF model, where the entire high-performance shortwave receiver is contained on a PCI card, extremely well shielded against the effects of PC-generated interference. The demodulation is performed by an on-board DSP, which makes it possible to use multiple receivers in a single computer. Numerous functions and facilities include recording and playback (both audio and IF spectrum), IF shift, continuously variable IF bandwidth 1 Hz to 15 kHz (in 1 Hz increments), notch filter, noise blanker, and several test and measurements facilities including several spectrum analyzers. There are also numerous hardware options, factory-installed at the time of order. Simple 'Plug and Play' installation.
Apart from audio recording and playback, the receiver can also record an entire 20 kHz wide IF spectrum, making it possible to thoroughly analyze the received signal, and 're-receive' the same signal again and again with different IF filter bandwidths, notch filter, noise blanking or demodulator settings, to arrive at the best possible reception of weak or interference-prone transmissions.
This is the external version of the WR-G313i HF model. It is an extremely sensitive receiver, making it possible to comfortably read CW signals under 0.05 µV input levels, yet featuring a respectable 95 dB dynamic range making the receiver resistant to strong signal overload. The receiver connects to an IBM-compatible PC via the USB port. Several receivers can be controlled by a single PC to form a multi-channel HF receiver system. The receiver has its own on-board DSP, and does not rely on the PC sound card for the signal input; the digitization is done in the receiver itself, using a high-performance analog-to-digital converter. As the DSP performs the final stage IF filtering and all demodulation, this receiver is entirely software-defined, which means that additional demodulation or decoding modes can be easily added by a mere software change. All the features of this unit are similar to those of the WR-G313i internal unit.
This is a third generation PC-Based Software Defined Receiver (SDR) for the VHF and UHF bands. With a frequency range of 9 kHz to 1,800 MHz the receiver features an extraordinarily sensitive front end and very low phase noise. The upper limit can be expanded to 3,500 MHz with an optional downconverter. To keep costs down this receiver uses the computer’s audio board to the DSP processing. Operating modes are AM, AMN, AMS, LSB, USB, CW, FM3, FM6, or FMN modes. The basic WR-G305i comes with a Standard Demodulator.
The WR-G305e is an external (USB interface) version of the above WR-G305i receiver, with identical performance. The demodulation is performed by the PC using advanced digital signal processing techniques. Simple 'Plug and Play' installation.
The WR-G315i is a software-defined high-performance VHF/UHF receiver (9 kHz to 1800 MHz, extendable to 3500 MHz using an optional Antenna Multiplexer and Frequency Extender) on a PCI card. This receiver has continuously variable IF bandwidth 1 Hz to 15 kHz (in 1 Hz increments), a 20 kHz wide real-time spectrum analyzer with 16 Hz resolution, noise blanker and notch filter. There is also an integrated recorder, making it possible to instantly record and playback the received signal. Like other G3 receivers, the WR-G315i can also record an entire 20 kHz wide IF spectrum. A difference with the WR-G305 series is that this model has its own on-board DSP, and does not rely on the PC sound card for the signal input; the digitization is done in the receiver itself, using a high-performance analog-to-digital converter.
The receiver has various types of measurement facilities available such as received signal frequency accuracy, amplitude modulation depth, frequency deviation, THD (total harmonic distortion) and SINAD. An audio spectrum analyzer is also included, making it possible to observe the demodulated spectrum in real-time with a resolution of 5 Hz.
This is the external version of the WR-G315i with very similar features. The receiver connects to an IBM-compatible PC via the USB port. Several receivers can be controlled by a single PC to form a multi-channel HF receiver system.
