An Aquaco Rainwater Harvesting System collects water from the roof area, stores it and supplies the water for use instead of mains water. Aquaco Rainwater Harvesting Systems have been installed in many apartment blocks. Any multi-residential project should include an Aquaco Rainwater Harvesting or Grey Water Recycling System.

Rainwater Harvesting Installation - Direct

A typical direct installation for a Rainwater Harvesting System involves:

  • Excavate, prepare and  install the Aquaco underground tank
  • Connect riser from the rainwater collection tank directly to the Aquaco Master Control Unit
  • Connect the Aquaco Master Control Unit to W.C’s, urinals, laundry etc
  • Install UV disinfection unit if required
  • Connect electricity

Rainwater Harvesting Installation - Indirect

A typical indirect installation for a Rainwater Harvesting System involves:

  • Excavate, prepare and install the Aquaco underground tank
  • Connect riser from the rainwater collection tank to the supplied header tank and connect mains water top-up
  • Connect header tank down feeds to W.C’s, urinals, laundry etc
  • Install UV disinfection unit if required
  • Connect electricity

Combined Grey and Rainwater Harvesting System

A combined grey water and rainwater harvesting system offers:
Supply to non-potable water requirements from recycled grey water
Top up the system with stored rainwater.

Advantages of combining with grey water supply:

The combined Grey Water and Rainwater Harvesting System will not rely solely on rainfall. Rainwater is ideal for laundry and irrigation as it can be used without additional filtration. Achieve maximum Breeam Points.
