About Us
Our industrial operation’s roots go back to 1946, when Fred Gooding first realized his dream of starting a roofing company. Soon after, Bill Simpson, then Fritz Mackes, joined him to establish what would eventually be known as Gooding, Simpson & Mackes, Inc. Fritz managed a division of the company until he passed away in 1974.
Jim Towers took over as head of that division, which steadily grew to become GSM Industrial in 1983.
It’s now its own entity that continues to expand its field installation and metal fabrication teams to take on any size challenge.
GSM Industrial: More Than the Average Industrial Fabricator
We want to share the history of our business, our family—and our philanthropic efforts—so we can foster long-term, trustworthy relationships with our clients. A quote for a cyclone or a classifier isn’t just a quote. Our overhead crane and robotic welder aren’t just tools that we use. And your order for large-diameter ductwork isn’t something we take lightly.
From our founders’ Gooding, Simpson & Mackes, Inc. to the GSM Industrial that’s making innovations today, our story is all about you. Everything that GSM Industrial designs, manufactures, ships, or installs exhibits only the highest standards in craftsmanship. That’s because we focus on value and commit ourselves to excellence, every day—for you.
All of that adds up to a trustworthy partner for your next custom metal fabrication project. Get in touch with us today!

GSM Industrial’s steadfast commitment to excellence has helped us achieve a long list of industry-recognized certifications that span many areas of our business.
Code Certified Shop
GSM has designed and fabricated pressure vessels meeting ASME standards for over 30 years. Since December 2012, we can officially stamp the ASME Certification “U” Mark and National Board “R” Stamp to products if requested or required by the customer. GSM also has the ability to register code certified Manufacturer’s Data Reports with the National Board as required by many jurisdictions.

This indicates that GSM’s design, fabrication, testing, examination and documentation for Pressure Vessels and/or Parts were completed in strict accordance with the requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII Division 1.
