HydroP is an Israeli startup developing a breakthrough technology to reduce reverse osmosis membrane desalination energy cost. HydroP’s technology is based on a novel, peptoid-based material, embedded in the membrane. The tailored material impacts the water thermodynamic property, leading to a reduction in the concentration gradient between the two sides of the membrane. Moreover, the material does not have any adverse effect on the membrane’s salt rejection property, nor does it hinder any other improvement made to the surface of the membrane.
Up to 30% reduction in the energy required to perform the reverse osmosis process
Augmenting any other reverse osmosis technological improvement
Integrated seamlessly with regular membrane manufacturing process
The company's breakthrough technology is protected by two pending patents, and it continues to broaden its portfolio.
